Creating Theme-Based Teaching through Inspirational Movies such as The Blind Side

Abstract
This paper aims to discuss creating theme based teaching through movies for the EFL university level of students. Using movies with similar themes will be effective to teach English and contents to the tertiary level of Korean students. The goal of this paper is to provide specific guidelines regarding theme based instruction which can be applied in the EFL classroom. It is expected that students will be inspired to learn English in the meaningful contexts and eventually it will lead to meaningful learning. This paper is work in progress and the researcher is going to suggest specific lesson plans using inspirational movies. In the further research, the result of the research will be presented after she tries this method in the classroom. It is expected that students will be motivated to improve English and use expressions in the real life situations which they have learned in the various movies. It gears to encourage students to have more intrinsic motivation and make them more independent learners.
