Designing and Using Video Materials for EFL Classes
Jay Myoung Yu
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to show how to design and use video materials for EFL classes. This paper, first of all, briefly discusses the rationale for using video to teach English in EFL situations. Since using videos does not guarantee a pedagogic effect, this paper suggests a procedure for designing a lesson plan by demonstrating a sample lesson with a movie segment. The paper also provides a sample lesson using videos in EFL classes. The researcher hopes that the sample lesson plan can help teachers to design and use other video materials systematically for their own EFL classes.
