CALL: A Necessary but Difficult Step in China's College English Teaching
shuan Li Zheng, Suo Lei
Abstract
CALL is a necessary requirement for language learners in China's College English programs as a result of the development in technology, especially the use of computers and networks. Popularization of computers in high schools has somewhat paved the way, and the development of teaching through computers and networks, requires us to keep up with the situation. However, in China's College English teaching, CALL cannot be thoroughly and effectively carried out for many reasons. The authors put forward some suggestions as to how to promote CALL in College English teaching and come to the conclusion that the successful performance of CALL depends on many factors, both material and immaterial.
