A study of the effect of English animation movies on students' listening ability in English lesson in elementary school

Abstract
This study was designed to examine the effect of the English animation movies on listening ability to appeal to students in elementary school, and was aimed at finding new ways and means to teach English more effectively. Twenty six sixth-grade students, who were given the listening lessons with Toy Story 2, showed remarkable improvement of their listening comprehension. That of post- test (84.54) was higher (3.71) than the average of pre-test (80.83). There was significant difference in the significant level (p<.01). These students showed more interest toward English. The students showed a greater enthusiasm for English in the post-test. It would be helpful for teachers and students to use the English animation movies.
