Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the EBS elementary English program on elementary students' listening ability and affective domains. A survey was conducted on 234 third grade elementary school students. For the experimental part of the study, two classes were selected on the basis of pre-test of listening ability and affective domains. One was the experimental group and the other was the control group. The experimental group received instruction by the EBS elementary English program for 20 minutes every lesson once a week over 14 weeks, whereas the control group was instructed with an English textbook and a CD-ROM for listening. The results of the study showed that there was no significant difference in listening ability between the two groups. However, the English instruction using the EBS elementary English program affected significantly the students' affective domains. Unlike the control group, the experimental group showed a significant increase in learning interest, self-confidence and awareness of the EBS elementary English program in their post-test.
