This study examines the effect of silent-viewing methods of the video materials for the improvement of English vocabulary ability of Elementary school children. The subjects are two classes of fourth graders. The experiment sought to confirm and study their reaction to sound-only videos. The comparison used double time repetition for their seeing and hearing. Four research questions are posed: 1) How does learning using silent-viewing of video materials influence English vocabulary ability improvement? 2) How learning using silent-viewing of video materials influence English listening ability improvement? 3) Because of teaching using silent-viewing of video materials, how are the improvements in their hearing and speaking abilities related? 4) How did learinng attitude change after the use of silent-viewing of Video materials? The results, it is suggested that silent-viewing learning method promote an awakening of their listening abilities and interest in the presented contents in the long-term. They presented high responses for the lesson's contents; Accordingly, these methods contrive to strengthen their learning ability and improve their language ability. |
