There has been increasing number of Korean students who attend English language camps in English speaking countries. However, there are not enough in-depth studies on the topic of English camps. We need to gain more thoughts and ideas about the topic. Therefore, this study explores the experiences of 16 Korean college students in an English camp held from July 3, 2004 to July 29, 2004 in Vancouver, Canada. The findings collected through informal and semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and students' written work indicate that all participants were positively affected by attending English language camps. The implications are discussed in three perspectives: Psychological, language educational, and socio-cultural perspectives. |
